Staff Sergeant Dante Jordán is assigned to the 142nd Logistics Squadron as a Material Controller. SSgt Jordán was an Army enlisted member for four years. He spent time as a Multiple Launch Rocket System crewmember in the Field Artillery career specialty during this time, stationed at Fort Sill, OK, assigned to the 5/3rd Field Artillery. After a break in service, SSgt Jordán enlisted into the Oregon Air National Guard and the 270th Air Traffic Control Squadron in Klamath Falls as a Material Controller. Since joining the Oregon Air National Guard, SSgt Jordán has attended college earning his Bachelor of Science in Applied Psychology with a minor in International Relations from the Oregon Institute of Technology. In addition he has earned an Associate of Applied Science in Logistics from the Community College of the Air Force. He is presently admitted to the University of Oregon as a Master’s candidate in Public Administration with a focus on International Relations. SSgt Jordán has volunteered for deployment on several occasions, conducting security operations in support of Operation Noble Eagle and Iraqi Freedom. In 2004 he deployed to McChord AFB, WA and in 2005 was sent to Okinawa, JP. His current deployment started in April of 2007 at Misawa AB, continued to Yokota AB and is presently serving at Yongsan Army Garrison with SOCKOR (Special Operations Command). He was a member of the 270th Air Traffic Control Squadron for 4 years as a material controller dealing primarily with mobility supplies and equipment. After graduating with his BS in 2004, he transferred to the Portland Air National Guard Base and is presently assigned to the Mobility Section of the 142nd Logistics Squadron. SSgt Jordán has volunteered for various activities including serving as an escort at several air shows including the 1996 World Helicopter Championship in Salem, OR, the Army Shooting Team, Army Physical Fitness Testing NCOIC, and the Civil Air Patrol. He has assisted the developmentally disabled for Klamath County Department of Human Services, and is presently a volunteer coach for the University of Oregon Fighting Duck baseball team whom he helped lead to their fourth consecutive World Series appearance this past season. SSgt Jordán has been a member of Oregon Air National Guard for six years. He is currently activated but is normally a Drill Status Guardsman.
